Many people will be giving or receiving fitness equipment as gifts with Christmas approaching and New Year’s resolutions around the corner.  Each and every morning over the next few months this will no doubt raise a few smiles beginning on Christmas morning.  Opening a present and finding a treadmill inside will be very exciting indeed!

Like all mechanical equipment, treadmills need regular maintenance; this is something that most people don’t realize.

The belt is the most important part of the treadmill.  To prolong the life of the equipment and to keep it in good working condition, the belt of any treadmill needs regular attention and lubrication.  You and your machine will always be happy with a good treadmill lubricant.  To help prevent long term damage and also to keep it not to operate slickly, the lubricant oil helps to prevent wear and tear on the treadmill belt of the equipment.

Should the treadmill become damaged through neglect, you might consider treadmill lubricant very cost effective rather than buying a new piece of equipment or any other replacement parts.  Your treadmill will not last its intended life time without lubrication.  The mechanical parts will become worn and naturally this leads to parts breaking or ceasing to function correctly.

The ideal lubricant for your kit should be marked in the manual of your equipment and there are different types of treadmill lubrication on the market.  Make sure you refer to the supplier’s recommendations because a small number of treadmills don’t need to be lubricated.  Make sure you get the right lubricant for your treadmill because either oils or waxes!

As it takes a lot of stress and pressure when the equipment is used, the treadmill belt is one of the most important parts of the machine.  If you don’t lube it you could end up losing it, especially if you use it on a regular basis!

You should be able to buy it from the store where you purchased your treadmill equipment, or if you aren’t sure where to get your treadmill lubricant you can either buy it online at selected resellers.

Purchasing Treadmills Fitness

If you’re looking for a treadmill, then probably you’re also looking for ways to increase your fitness level or maybe just to work off a few pounds in the holidays.

When you are looking for a new treadmill, there are a few things that you need to look for when searching for treadmills.

Some models have more technology than others, although for the most part treadmills are created equal.  All across the market the basic treadmill is built the same.

The size and power of the treadmill’s motor is the first thing that you need to find out.  You might have to power the treadmill yourself if there isn’t power listed on the treadmill (of which a lot of people don’t want to do).  For most home use, look for listings that have a HP or horsepower rating on the motor, anything over 1 horsepower (HP) is going to be sufficient.  But you might want to find a heavy duty model if you want a treadmill to go into a gym.

The length of the warranty is next one you should be looking for in the features list.

The length of the warranty shouldn’t matter so much if you’re buying it from a reputable company.  To save money and in case something happens once you get it in your house, you might want to make sure that the treadmill has a warranty to back it up.  These exercise equipments have a lot of moving parts that can fail at any time, and having a quality warranty will protect your investment.

Check for any digital dashboards that the treadmill might have, you might want to check this too.

Avoid treadmills that are loaded with digital features, because the computers used to track your statistics can be very costly to fix.  This is a good way to save money before buying the treadmill.

Another way to save money when you’re looking for a treadmill is by downgrading the types of treadmills, based on the included features that you don’t use.  Please keep in mind about all these things to get the most of your treadmill.
